Some cute air stream before and afters having been popping up recently and they reminded me of this crazy hotel we stayed at in Cape Town. The Grand Daddy Hotel Airstream Trailer Park features seven gorgeously decorated airstream trailers on top, yes on top, of a building in the middle of the city. The trailer park has its own rooftop bar among the sky scrapers, a back drop of Table Mountain, its outrageously cool!! Each Airstream interior has been designed by a different artist, they are funky, funny, fully functioning unforgettable en suite rooms (ffff).
Dorothy is a madness of polka dots
Pleasantville is mid century nostalgia
Views of the trailer park, the stunning views of Table Mountain, and the exterior of the hotel, the trailer park is hidden on top!
A great friend celebrated his 40th birthday in the hotel and hired the entire Trailer park for guests so we partied the night away, then retired to our snug and comfortable Airstream under the stars. It was a wonderful place to wake up in the morning and was an experience I will never forget. Its also probably the only trailer park I will ever willingly stay in.
That is an amazing concept! I think I'm in love with Pleasantville...
ReplyDeleteHOW FANTASTIC!! I agree Ashley, I love Pleasantville, but the whole concept just takes boutique hotels to a new level.
ReplyDeleteThe photo's don't really convey just how cute the interiors were. And they were surprisingly comfy. I loved the total craziness of all the polka dots!
ReplyDeleteWow this is incredible!!! My husband and I visited Cape Town a few years ago, and I wish I had known about this so we could have seen it in person. Totally amazing! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you ever visit again, its my old home town so I know some good spots to visit.
DeleteHi Eva - found you! I didn't know you wrote such a great blog. Love the Airstreams. When I visit Cape Town for my 40th (in a few years!) I shall remember to stay here.
